Role Overview
We’re looking for a reliable, motivated individual to take charge of light supervisory duties while also assisting in cleaning tasks. The Working Janitorial Supervisor is responsible for knowing each facility’s cleaning requirements, supervising hourly cleaning personnel, ensuring all tasks are completed to ServiceMaster standards, and performing general cleaning duties.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and support a team of cleaners, including:
- Managing schedules
- Motivating team members
- Ensure cleaning duties are performed to company standards by performing inspections; provide constructive feedback to staff
- Foster a safe and clean environment
- Training
- Conduct on-the-job training
- Training staff on ServiceMaster’s standards, products, processes, and procedures
- Task schedules specific to individual accounts
- Communication:
- Maintain communication with customers, team members, and management
- Respond to customer complaints and requests in a timely and caring manner
- Maintain cleaning supplies and report any needs or issues to management
- Open and lock facilities, enable and disable security system as required
- Perform general cleaning duties, including:
- Sweeping, mopping, vacuuming
- Cleaning restrooms
- Bagging and removing trash
Required Qualifications & Physical Demands
- Must be able to communicate in English (Bilingual preferred)
- Reliable and punctual
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to lift and and/or carry up to 50 lbs.
- Constant standing, walking, pushing, kneeling, twisting, reaching
- Ability to differentiate between cleaning products and their uses
- 1-2 years’ supervisory experience
- Will provide on the job training to those with strong work ethic and willingness to learn
- The ability to be flexible and work at a fast pace in a multi-tasked job is a must
- Contribute to a positive work climate with a pleasant attitude
- Contribute to the overall team effort including being in uniform, dependable and on time
- Treat all co-workers and customers with courtesy and respect
