Pay Range: $40.00 - $45/Hour on W2/C2C (All inclusive)

We are seeking a Senior Java Backend Developer with strong Kotlin experience to design, develop, and maintain scalable, high-performance backend services and RESTful APIs. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Java/J2EE, Spring Boot, Kotlin, distributed systems, SQL/NoSQL databases, automated testing, and CI/CD practices. Experience or knowledge of Agentic AI is also required.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain high-performance backend services and RESTful APIs using Java, Spring Boot, and Kotlin.
• Collaborate with product managers, business analysts, architects, frontend engineers, and other cross-functional teams to understand requirements and implement effective solutions.
• Design scalable and reliable solutions for distributed, multi-tiered applications.
• Develop clean, maintainable, reusable, and well-tested code following object-oriented design principles and coding best practices.
• Define and implement API contracts and ensure seamless integration with frontend and downstream systems.
• Optimize backend applications for performance, scalability, availability, and reliability under high-volume workloads.
• Troubleshoot production issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement permanent corrective solutions.
• Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to improve code quality and engineering standards.
• Mentor junior developers and contribute to a culture of continuous learning and technical excellence.
• Implement automated testing and quality practices using tools such as REST Assured, Selenium, and Cucumber.
• Work closely with DevOps teams to support CI/CD pipelines, automated deployments, and cloud-based application environments.
• Follow Git branching, code quality, version control, and software development best practices.
• Evaluate emerging technologies and frameworks to improve application efficiency and productivity.
• Participate in Agile development activities using tools such as JIRA or Rally.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• 5 6 years of software development experience with strong backend development expertise.
• Strong hands-on experience with Java/J2EE, Spring Boot, and Kotlin.
• Proven experience building and consuming RESTful APIs and web services.
• Strong understanding of JSON, data structures, algorithms, and object-oriented programming.
• Experience developing applications using distributed and multi-tiered architectures.
• Strong knowledge of relational databases such as Oracle and DB2.
• Experience with NoSQL databases such as Cassandra or Couchbase.
• Knowledge of Agentic AI concepts and applications.
• Experience with Git, branching strategies, Maven, Jenkins, and Nexus.
• Knowledge of automated testing frameworks and practices, including REST Assured, Selenium, and Cucumber.
• Understanding of CI/CD concepts and deployment automation.
• Strong debugging, problem-solving, and root cause analysis skills.
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments with tools such as JIRA or Rally.

Preferred / Nice-to-Have Skills

• Experience deploying backend services in AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud environments.
• Experience with microservices architecture and cloud-native application development.
• Exposure to modern AI technologies, particularly Agentic AI and AI-enabled backend services.
• Experience with performance tuning and high-volume distributed applications.
• Knowledge of containerization and DevOps practices.
• Experience mentoring developers and participating in technical design discussions.
