Java Backend Developer

Introduction

Seeking Java Developer Leads to join. The ideal candidate will be a strong backend Java developer with AWS experience, particularly with Java, Spring Boot, Lambda, and Fargate.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain backend applications using Java and Spring Boot.
• Build and enhance business applications supporting customer/entity verification processes.
• Develop and implement business logic and rules within the application platform.
• Work with AWS cloud services, including AWS Lambda and Fargate.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to design, develop, test, and deploy scalable solutions.
• Troubleshoot application issues and contribute to production support and remediation.
• Leverage modern AI-assisted developer productivity tools where applicable.
• Participate in technical discussions, code reviews, and solution design activities.
• Contribute to a predominantly backend-focused development environment; full-stack experience is welcome but not required.

Required Qualifications

• Strong professional experience in Java backend development.
• Hands-on experience with Spring Boot/Spring Framework.
• Experience developing enterprise-scale applications and business logic.
• Experience with AWS cloud technologies.
• Familiarity with AWS Lambda and Fargate.
• Strong understanding of backend development, APIs, application architecture, and software development practices.
• Ability to work effectively in a collaborative engineering environment.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with business rules engines/business rules development.
• Experience using AI-assisted developer productivity tools such as Amazon Q, Gemini, or similar tools.
• Full-stack development experience.
• Experience working within large financial services or enterprise technology environments.

Additional Details

• Approximately 70%+ of the role will focus on backend development; there is currently no significant UI development requirement.
• Deep AWS infrastructure/IaC expertise, such as Terraform development, is not a primary requirement.
• Business rules experience is a plus, not mandatory.
• The interview will be a one-hour technical discussion/panel focused on the candidate's Java depth, technical background, and experience with the relevant technology stack. No coding test is expected.
• The initial funding is for 7 months, with a potential for extension, although an extension cannot be guaranteed.
