Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced Java Backend Lead with 10+ years of hands-on experience in backend development, microservices, system design, and technical leadership.
The ideal candidate should have strong expertise in Core Java, Spring Boot, Microservices, REST APIs, Vert.x, Reactive Programming, and Distributed Systems. This role will lead backend development, provide technical direction, mentor engineers, and ensure successful project delivery.
Job Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
* Lead the design and development of scalable backend applications and microservices.
* Develop and maintain solutions using Core Java, Spring Boot, REST APIs, and Vert.x.
* Apply Reactive Programming principles for high-performance and scalable applications.
* Drive system design, architecture, and technical decisions.
* Review code and ensure coding standards, quality, and best practices.
* Troubleshoot and optimize application performance and scalability.
* Work with relational databases such as Oracle/MySQL and NoSQL databases such as Cassandra.
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams, architects, and business stakeholders.
* Support cloud-native development using GCP, AWS, or Azure.
* Work with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
* Mentor development teams and provide technical guidance.
* Follow Agile, TDD/BDD, and SDLC practices.
* Ensure projects are delivered successfully and within defined timelines.

Qualifications
Required Skills & Experience
* 10+ years of Java backend development experience.
* Strong hands-on expertise in Core Java.
* Strong experience with Spring Boot and Microservices.
* Excellent knowledge of REST APIs.
* Hands-on experience with Vert.x and Reactive Programming.
* Strong understanding of Distributed Systems.
* Strong knowledge of System Design, OOP, and Design Patterns.
* Experience with Oracle/MySQL.
* Experience with Cassandra or other NoSQL databases.
* Exposure to GCP, AWS, or Azure and cloud-native development.
* Experience with CI/CD and DevOps.
* Strong experience in Code Reviews and Performance Tuning.
* Good understanding of Agile, TDD/BDD, and SDLC.
* Proven experience leading development teams and mentoring engineers.
* Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications
* AMEX experience is preferred.
* OneAMEX knowledge is an added advantage.
* Experience working on large-scale enterprise or financial services applications is a plus.
