Description

Java DeveloperMindbank Consulting Group has an immediate need for a Java Developer to support a custom application that captures GPS points from data collector laptops and processes them for data quality purposes. The data is captured on laptops and injected into an Elasticsearch database, along with other relevant data. The system engine performs analysis of the data to generate outcomes and events. The system includes a web interface that uses VueJS and leaflet mapping library that renders data collector paths and other information. The web application accesses web APIs that are implemented using the Spring framework. The code is stored in GitLab and is managed through a CI/CD pipeline. We are looking for a technology professional that can support the team in understanding the details of the system using the code and older documentation as the source of information, getting the environment up and running to provide support for enhancements, and bringing the documentation up to date.Java Developer Responsibilities:Work with Wesat IT team to review source code and project structure.Reverse engineer data model from Elasticsearch data storeSupport reconstruction of the development environment.Learn system sufficiently well to help bring documentation up to date.Support training other resources to take ownership of platform.Java Developer Qualifications:Required Qualifications:A bachelor's degree in IT related field with at least 10+ years of experience or equivalent combination of experience and education.Expert in Java / Java Spring APIs, Elasticsearch and Kibana technologiesDesired Qualifications:Should be able to demonstrate the ability to understand a complex technology stack.Candidate should be proficient in using GitLab and CI/CD pipelines.Experience in VueJS is also desirable.Additional Competencies:Must be able to work effectively within a remote team environment and have proven remote work experience.Ability to prioritize, assess, and present options based on timelines, scope, risk, licensing, cost considerations, and long-term maintainability.Ability to communicate effectively through documentation, presentations, email, and discussions with technical teams, leadership, and stakeholders.Demonstrated willingness to share knowledge, mentor team members, and collaborate across functions.Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and related collaboration technologies.Why should you work for Mindbank?
