Akkodis is seeking a Java Developer for a Contract with a client in New York City, NY. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining scalable enterprise Java applications while collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver innovative solutions that support Wealth Management business objectives.
Rate Range: $37/hour to $49/hour; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.
Java Developer Job Responsibilities include:
Design, develop, and maintain enterprise-grade server-side applications using Core Java, J2EE, Spring, Hibernate, and related technologies.
Build and support RESTful web services, application integrations, and scalable backend solutions that align with business and platform requirements.
Collaborate with Product Owners, Business Analysts, and global technology teams to gather requirements, estimate effort, and deliver high-quality solutions.
Participate in Agile development activities, including sprint planning, grooming sessions, daily stand-ups, code reviews, and testing efforts.
Develop and optimize database queries, troubleshooting application issues, and ensure application performance, stability, and scalability.
Follow development best practices, DevOps processes, and architectural standards while contributing to continuous improvement initiatives and technical innovation.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in computer science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related technical field.
5+ years of experience in Java application development, with hands-on experience building enterprise-scale backend systems and server-side applications.
Strong expertise in Core Java, J2EE, Spring Framework, Hibernate, RESTful Web Services, XML/XSLT, and database technologies, with experience developing scalable and high-performance applications.
Proven experience working in Agile and DevOps environments, with strong analytical and problem-solving skills, proficiency in SQL, JUnit, JIRA, and exposure to financial services, banking, or wealth management applications preferred.

Pay Details: $37.00 to $49.00 per hour
