Java FSE

Our client, a IT Services and Consulting company, is looking for a Java FSE for their Mclean¸ VA location.
 
Responsibilities:

• Lead the design and development of end-to-end web applications using Java, Spring Boot, Angular, and Node.js.
• Own technical architecture decisions, including API design, data modeling, integration patterns, and non-functional requirements.
• Provide hands-on development across backend microservices and modern front-end components, contributing roughly half of your time to coding.
• Mentor and guide a team of developers through code reviews, pair programming, design walkthroughs, and technical coaching.
• Partner with product owners and business stakeholders to break down requirements, estimate effort, and shape delivery roadmaps.
• Establish and enforce engineering standards for coding, unit and integration testing, branching strategy, and documentation.
• Build and optimize CI/CD pipelines and cloud deployments (AWS or Azure) with containerization using Docker and Kubernetes.
• Troubleshoot production issues, drive root cause analysis, and lead performance, scalability, and security improvements.

• Strong skills in REST APIs, SQL/NoSQL databases, Git, and Agile delivery required; fintech or financial services knowledge is a plus.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field with 10+ years of full stack experience, including 2+ years leading development teams.
