Java Software Engineer
Summary
Our client is seeking a Java Software Engineer to maintain and enhance software that supports state-specific products, including interpreting business rules and requirements and implementing them as code or configuration changes across existing services and tools.
Responsibilities
- Interpret state business rule and requirement documents and translate them into code or configuration changes.
- Implement updates via configuration, XML, and query-based changes to existing services and tools.
- Resolve defects on current products and support new product rollouts for a given state.
- Create and execute unit test plans to ensure quality.
- Maintain technical documentation and follow established version control and project methodology.
- Troubleshoot application and data issues, using problem-tracking systems to prioritize and communicate.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree with 2-4 years of experience, or 6-8 years of experience without a degree.
- Experience with Java, JDBC, Spring, and JEE.
- Experience with SQL and REST APIs.
- Experience with AWS or similar Cloud technologies, Kubernetes, and containers.
- Comfortable with XML and configuration-based development.
- Ability to learn quickly and adapt.
- Strong collaboration skills.
Preferred
- Experience with Kotlin, JPA, Tomcat/Spring Boot, Oracle, and Linux.
- Experience with AI-assisted development tools (e.g., Amazon Q).
- AWS Developer Associate certification.
