Job Summary
Our client is seeking a senior-level Atlassian Platform Administrator to take full ownership of their Jira and Atlassian ecosystem. This individual will serve as the primary owner across Jira Service Management, Jira Software, and Confluence, managing everything from organization-level administration to project-level configuration.
This is a hands-on, strategic role responsible for building scalable processes, optimizing service management capabilities, and driving governance across the Atlassian platform. The ideal candidate is a true end-to-end administrator with deep experience in enterprise Jira environments.
Key Responsibilities
Atlassian Platform Ownership
- Own and administer the full Atlassian ecosystem (Jira Service Management, Jira Software, Confluence)
- Manage users, permissions, licensing, and access governance
- Maintain SSO, identity provider integrations, and security policies
- Evaluate new platform capabilities and recommend improvements
Change Management & CAB
- Design and implement Change Advisory Board (CAB) processes within Jira
- Build workflows for intake, risk classification, approvals, and change tracking
- Partner with stakeholders to drive adoption and ongoing governance
Jira Service Management (JSM)
- Administer and optimize multiple service desks across IT and business teams
- Configure workflows, request types, SLAs, queues, and automations
- Assess and improve current service desk structure and processes
- Translate business needs into scalable JSM solutions
Confluence & Knowledge Management
- Administer Confluence including space creation, permissions, and governance
- Develop templates and standards for knowledge management
- Partner with teams to improve documentation and usability
Reporting & Continuous Improvement
- Build dashboards and reporting to track performance and KPIs
- Monitor metrics such as SLA compliance, backlog, and throughput
- Identify and implement automation and process improvements
Required Qualifications
Experience
- 5+ years of hands-on Atlassian administration experience (not just end-user)
- Experience administering Atlassian Cloud at an enterprise level
- Strong experience with Jira Service Management (JSM)
- Proven experience building change management / CAB processes in Jira
- Experience managing multiple service desks and workflows
- Experience with user provisioning, permissions, and Atlassian Access
- Experience with Confluence administration and governance
- Experience building dashboards and reporting metrics
Technical Skills
- Jira Software and Jira Service Management
- Confluence administration
- SSO / SCIM / identity integration
- Workflow configuration, automation, and scripting
- Jira Assets (Insight) preferred
Certifications (Preferred)
- Atlassian Certified (ACP-120 or similar)
- ITIL Foundation (nice to have)

Education
Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field preferred (or equivalent experience)
