The Opportunity

We're seeking a Job Captain to join a fast‑moving corporate interiors practice where technical quality, coordination, and accountability matter. This role sits at the center of project delivery - partnering with Project Managers, designers, consultants, and contractors to turn design intent into clean, buildable documents.

If you enjoy being hands‑on in Revit, understand how interiors projects move through permitting and construction, and want to grow within a collaborative studio, this role offers both stability and upward momentum.

What You'll Do

As a Job Captain, you'll take ownership of key technical components across multiple interiors projects, supporting them from documentation through construction.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Producing and coordinating construction document sets for corporate interiors and tenant improvement projects
  • Developing finish plans, schedules, and specifications with accuracy and consistency
  • Coordinating with consultants and specialty vendors to ensure fully integrated drawings
  • Reviewing zoning, code, ADA, and exiting requirements and helping implement them into the documents
  • Supporting plan check and permit submissions, including responding to city comments
  • Participating in construction administration, including RFIs, submittals, and field issue resolution
  • Communicating clearly with contractors and consultants to help resolve discrepancies in the field
  • Maintaining organized project files and documenting key decisions and communications
  • Supporting quality control and adherence to office standards
  • Assisting with mentoring designers or production staff on a project basis

What Success Looks Like

In this role, success means:

  • Delivering accurate, coordinated drawing sets with minimal rework
  • Managing multiple projects or phases without losing detail
  • Being trusted by Project Managers as a reliable technical lead
  • Helping projects move smoothly through permitting and construction
  • Contributing positively to team culture and collaboration

What We're Looking For

This role is best suited for a mid‑level architectural professional with a strong interiors background.

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Architecture or related field or equivalent professional experience
  • 5+ years of experience working on corporate interiors / tenant improvement projects
  • Strong proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD
  • Working knowledge of ADA, exiting, and basic building codes
  • Experience producing construction documents and coordinating consultants
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills

Nice to Have:

  • Experience with Illustrator, Photoshop, SketchUp (3D tools a plus)
  • Familiarity with city plan check processes
  • Experience coordinating A/V, cabling, or security vendors
  • Interest in mentoring junior team members

The Environment

You'll work in a team‑oriented, collaborative studio that values:

  • High technical standards
  • Clear communication
  • Mutual support and mentorship
  • A balanced, sustainable approach to workload

The pace is steady and deadline‑driven, but the culture emphasizes teamwork and shared success.

Benefits & Perks

  • Medical, dental, and vision coverage
  • 401(k) plan
  • 14 paid holidays annually
  • Tiered PTO starting at 18 days
  • Summer half‑day Fridays
  • Volunteer Time Off
  • Casual dress code and regular team events

Schedule & Travel

  • Based in the Culver City office
  • Standard weekday schedule coordinated with your manager
  • Occasional local travel for meetings or site visits
