A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A JOB COACH
As a Job Coach, you provide direct support to people with developmental and intellectual disabilities, empowering them to reach their goals. You are a valuable resource for each individual and will assist them with whatever their needs are at work. You will accompany individuals to their place of work, teach job skills, observe individual abilities and interests, identify areas for further skill development, promote independence and self-reliance. Help them with day-to-day work tasks and responsibilities such as, clocking in/out, requesting for time off, attend trainings, access benefits, review safety skills, communicate with supervisors and/or co-workers, you respect and encourage each person to make their own choices. Each day, you can take pride in serving the members of the intellectual/developmental disability community and making a difference in their lives!
QUALIFICATIONS
A related college degree or related experience is preferred but multiple factors will be considered. Are you dependable and service-oriented? Do you have strong communication and interpersonal skills? Are you friendly and able to establish a good rapport with people easily? If so, you might just be perfect for this nonprofit social services position!
WORK SCHEDULE
This full-time position works a flexible schedule that is based on the availability of the employee and the participant's work schedule. Typically, participants are working Monday - Friday between the hours of 6 AM-6 PM, some holiday work may be available as well.
