Job Details

Job Cost Accountant (Construction)
Our client is seeking a detail-oriented Job Cost Accountant to support the financial management of active construction projects. This role will partner closely with project managers and operations to ensure accurate job costing, real-time financial visibility, and overall project profitability.

Responsibilities
  • Maintain and track job cost data across multiple projects, ensuring accurate allocation of labor, materials, and subcontractor costs
  • Monitor project budgets and forecasts, identifying variances and supporting corrective action
  • Prepare and analyze job cost reports, including actual vs. budget comparisons and WIP schedules
  • Review and code invoices, ensuring proper alignment to projects and cost categories
  • Partner with project managers and internal teams to provide timely financial insights and reporting
  • Support month-end close processes related to job costing and project financials
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls, company policies, and construction accounting best practices

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field
  • 2+ years of experience in cost accounting or construction accounting
  • Strong understanding of job costing and project-based accounting
  • Experience with construction/accounting software (e.g., Foundation, Procore, or similar)
  • Advanced Excel skills and ability to work with large datasets
  • Highly detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate cross-functionally
