Working evenings is required. GAME MANAGER - GENERAL SUMMARY The responsibility of this position is to assist in the implementation of regulations, guidelines, and procedures pertaining to the use of the high school facilities before, during, and after interscholastic sports games; to serve as a resource to administrators and interscholastic sports personnel concerning sports and recreation activities. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSManage game and set-up and supervise athletic events each season.Meet and greet the visiting teams and guide them to their locker room.Meet and greet officials and set them up in their locker room.Manage ticket takes, clock person, and scoring table at each event.Be responsible for cash box for each event.Supervise all home basketball events at high school gyms.Supervise closing and securing the building after each event is over.REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS Reports to high school principal and athletic director.MENTAL DEMANDS Requires above average reading, writing, and mathematical skills; must have good visual ability, including peripheral vision; must have good hand/eye coordination; requires excellent communication, rapport-building and conflict resolution skills to work with a variety of individuals; requires knowledge of equipment used in athletics education and events; work is sometimes fast paced, routine, repetitive; requires the ability to make independent on-the-spot and long-range decisions; requires resolving problems and issues relating to the athletics programs; requires substantial public contact; occasionally be required to calm distraught, angry, or hostile individuals; requires adaptability and flexibility to different behaviors of students, parents, fans; requires cooperation and ability to work as a team member; requires organizational and time management skills; requires self-discipline in behavior and attitude; requires accurate record-keeping.PHYSICAL DEMANDS Requires working outdoors in any kind of weather; exposure to changes in temperature and climatic conditions, wet/humid conditions, dust, toxic chemicals; exposure to varying student, crowd, and equipment noise levels; may be required to attend to athletic injuries and/or to provide emergency first-aid/CPR; may be occasionally exposed to danger to personal safety when supervising events; may be required to lift students in an emergency situation; exposure to danger from out-of-control individuals; requires standing, walking, sitting without restrictions for extended periods, ability to stoop, bend, squat frequently, lift and carry objects weighing up to 15 pounds frequently, must be mobile to move throughout the school building and grounds; exposure to body fluids and infectious to diseases carried by students/public; exposure to flying objects and debris; requires flexibility in scheduling and attendance of evening and possibly weekend activities.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: High School diploma or GED.
