Job Summary: Surgery Counselors ensure all aspects of scheduling surgery, including facilitating post-op appointments, obtaining necessary clearances, communicating with ASC, obtaining patient signatures when needed, and providing patient education on premium lenses as well as what to expect before, during, and after surgery. This position also works directly with our financial team to obtain appropriate insurance authorizations and advise patients of any financial responsibilities and collect payments. They are the liaison between the patient and clinical staff for all surgical patients and will focus on building the relationships with patients investing in Cataract and Refractive Surgery. TRAVEL: Travel is required to Hilton Head and Lady's Island. Education and Experience: High school diploma. Experience with Microsoft Office products. Prior experience in customer service. Prior experience in medical sales preferred. Prior medical office experience preferred. Must be able to work under pressure and respond to patient requests in a positive manner.
