The Operator I works under direct supervision and performs routine and repetitive assembly and production operations. The role requires following written and verbal instructions, maintaining accurate production records, handling small components, following safety procedures, and supporting quality and continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
Perform routine assembly and production operations according to established procedures.
Read, comprehend, and follow written procedures and verbal instructions.
Maintain accurate traveler, production, and quality documentation.
Ensure all parts and materials are properly identified and traceable.
Troubleshoot basic production and equipment issues.
Perform routine and preventive maintenance on applicable equipment and tools.
Follow all safety procedures and use required safety devices.
Participate in Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement initiatives.
Support quality and production goals related to quality, efficiency, and profitability.
Use electronic data collection systems and basic computer software.
Prioritize work based on job sequence, precedence, and importance.
Handle and maneuver small components and parts accurately.
Communicate production issues, ideas, and solutions to supervisors and management.
Work effectively within a self-managed team and demonstrate cooperation, flexibility, and active listening.
Support QMS, EMS, and other regulatory requirements.
Maintain a positive and professional attitude with internal and external customers.
Represent the company professionally during facility tours.
Participate with supervisors/managers in monitoring cell performance metrics and individual goals.
Required Qualifications
Ability to read and comprehend information at approximately a 7th-grade level.
Ability to follow written procedures and verbal instructions.
Basic troubleshooting skills.
Ability to use computers and electronic data collection systems.
Ability to prioritize and organize work.
Ability to handle small parts and components.
Ability to make routine decisions with minimal supervision.
Strong communication, teamwork, cooperation, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work in a repetitive production/assembly environment.
