This role supports the overall game experience by ensuring accurate communication of game information, promoting sportsma nship, and maintaining a positive and respectful atmosphere. QUALIFICATIONS : • Preferably, experience in broadcasting, journalism, communications, or theater. • Familiarity with PA sound systems. • Ability to pronounce player and coach names correctly. • Comfortable reading from a script while adapting to live action. LOCATION: Hempstead High School KEY RESPONSIBILITIES : • Serve as the official public address (PA) announcer for all home football games. • Announce: o Team lineups and starting players o Game progress (scores, time updates, fouls, penalties as appropriate) o Player recognitions, substitutions, and special announcements • Maintain clear, audible, and professional communication throughout the event • Promote sportsmanship and positive conduct in alignment with school and district expectations • Coordinate with: o Athletic Director o Scoreboard Manager o Game officials o Coaches and event staff • Review and follow any scripted announcements required by the district or athletic department • Make emergency or administrative announcements as directed • Arrive prior to events to: o Test sound equipment o Review game details and pronunciation of names • Ensure proper use and care of audio equipment -2- COMPENSATION : $600 .00 Stipend CLOSING DATE : August 4, 2026 APPLICATION PROCEDURE : To apply click on this link www.olasjobs.org/hempstead -ufsd Rodney Gilmore, Ed.
