    About the Role

    Rivertown Grill is looking for a skilled and dedicated Line Cook to join there kitchen team. The "line" is the heartbeat of our restaurant, where culinary skill meets high-energy execution. As a Line Cook, you will be responsible for preparing menu items to order in our fast-paced commercial kitchen, ensuring that every dish meets our standards for quality and consistency. You will work in a collaborative environment where communication and attention to detail are key to our success.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Before Service:
      • Set up your assigned station with all necessary ingredients and kitchen tools.
      • Verify stock levels in your chef base or reach-in refrigeration to ensure all menu items are fully prepared for the rush.
      • Inspect food quality to ensure freshness and compliance with safety standards.
    • During Service:
      • Man your assigned station (fry, grill, sauté, etc.) and prepare items according to order.
      • Maintain high standards of food quality, temperature, and presentation for every order that leaves the window.
      • Monitor the service window to ensure dishes are served at their peak quality.
      • Communicate effectively with the front-of-house staff to ensure efficient service and guest satisfaction.
    • After Service:
      • Execute closing procedures, including cleaning your station, sanitizing surfaces, and putting away ingredients according to food safety guidelines.
      • Prepare the station for the next shift by restocking items and resetting equipment.
      • Complete assigned daily and weekly cleaning projects as directed by the kitchen manager.

    Qualifications

    • Certification: Valid Food Handler's License is required.
    • Experience: Proven experience in a commercial kitchen environment preferred.
    • Skills:
      • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
      • Excellent multitasking abilities and time management skills.
      • High attention to detail, especially regarding food safety, temperature control, and cross-contamination prevention.
      • Positive, service-oriented attitude and a willingness to learn.
    • Physical Requirements:
      • Must be able to stand for long periods, walk, bend, reach, and lift up to 25–50 lbs.
      • Must be able to operate in an environment with high ambient temperatures and navigate a compact workspace safely.
