Qualifications: • CT teaching certification in Special Education K-12 • Experience with students with behavioral needs a plus • Prior experience working with children with special needs a plus • Possesses excellent written and verbal communication skills • Must be flexible, creative, and demonstrate strong organizational skills • Must be highly motivated and self-directed

Responsibilities: • Work collaboratively with individual student teams • Provide Case Manager services, including development, implementation, and monitoring of IEP goals and objectives; liaison with general education teachers; communication with home; running Team meetings • Attend PPTs and other meetings for assigned students and present up to date information on progress toward goals and objectives • Conduct and present educational testing results, using this information to review and revise current IEP goals and objectives • Collect and manage data pertaining to various student goals and objectives • Ensure that all related services and class accommodations are being implemented in the appropriate settings • Participate in professional development and other meetings with the special education department and school-wide faculty • Adapt and modify curriculum materials and instructional approaches; serve as a resource to the general education staff in regards to working with a diverse learner population • Implement and monitor behavior support and incentive plans for assigned students • Testing and instruction at the middle and elementary schools may be required
