Role Overview
The Cardiac Anesthesiologist provides anesthesia services for a wide range of cardiac and thoracic procedures, including CABG, valve repair/replacement, TAVR, and other complex cardiac interventions. This role also includes performing and interpreting TEE as part of intraoperative management.
Piedmont Healthcare is recruiting a Board Certified/Board Eligible Cardiac Anesthesiologist to join our growing cardiovascular service line. Our cardiac anesthesia team works collaboratively with cardiothoracic surgeons, interventional cardiologists, perfusionists, critical care physicians, and advanced practice providers in a high-acuity environment supporting a comprehensive cardiovascular program.

Full-time Cardiac Anesthesiology opportunity

cardiovascular procedures

Responsibilities
Provide anesthetic care for adult cardiac surgical procedures
Perform and interpret perioperative transesophageal echocardiography (TEE)
Participate in multidisciplinary cardiovascular care teams
Support quality, patient safety, and clinical excellence initiatives
Supervise and collaborate with CRNAs and Anesthesiologist Assistants, as applicable
Participate in call coverage as determined by departmental scheduling
Required Qualifications
MD or DO degree
Board Certified or Board Eligible in Anesthesiology
Completion of an ACGME-accredited Anesthesiology Residency
Fellowship training in Adult Cardiothoracic Anesthesiology
Eligible for unrestricted Georgia medical licensure
Preferred
Advanced Perioperative TEE Certification
Experience in complex cardiac and structural heart procedures
Interest in quality improvement, education, and program development
