Jolene's Host

Herschend is seeking a warm and enthusiastic Host to add to our restaurant operations team for our newest hospitality venture, Dolly Parton’s SongTeller Hotel, located in the heart of Downtown Nashville.  The ideal candidate is driven to provide excellent dining experiences for our guests through proper steps of service and maintain a great work environment for our fellow hosts and vendors at Jolene’s, an 85 seat lounge on the top floor of the hotel.

The Jolene’s Host position provides a unique opportunity for the right individual to be involved in opening efforts for Dolly Parton’s SongTeller Hotel featuring 245 rooms, two F&B Entertainment venues, a market, and Dolly Parton’s Museum.  The position is responsible for ensuring the consistent delivery of the brand experience through welcoming our guests and guiding them to their seats.  To achieve success in this role, one must drive results while adhering to our Heartspitality® culture.  This position requires genuine passion for providing hospitality to match the incredible views of the city provided at Jolene’s.

SUMMARY OF ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES 

• Checks with Manager for daily objectives 
• Inspects host desk/area for proper cleanliness and confirm supplies are all properly stocked 
• Greet guests with a smile and deliver the welcomed message as trained by manager 
• Seat guests using Opentable, bringing proper menus and communicate to servers/bussers via chit when necessary 
• Maintains a clean and sanitary environment in compliance with all local and federal health codes 
• Performs service, busser and runner duties as appropriate 
• Must be willing to work in other disciplines within the department as directed by management 
• Uses POS accurately. Handles credit card transactions as directed 
• Participate in upselling strategies as directed by management 
• Participates in daily line ups 
• Practices service standards and current training throughout service. Assumes duties of Supervisor in absence or as directed

QUALIFICATIONS

• Restaurant host experience preferred  

• Previous restaurant host technology preferred 

• Must be able to obtain Food handler certification 

• Must be at least 18 years old 

• Basic computer knowledge and usage preferred 

• Must pass a pre-employment background check
