The ACEJMC-accredited School of Journalism and Strategic Media at Middle Tennessee State University invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track position (#143060) in our rapidly-growing Sports Media program at the rank of assistant or associate professor. The start date for the position is August 1, 2025.
The successful candidate will join us in shaping the future of sports media education. The department's tenure requirements include a record of excellent teaching, peer-reviewed scholarly research and/or creative activity, and service to the university, the profession, and the public. A terminal degree in journalism, media, communication, or a closely related field is required by the appointment date.
A master’s degree in journalism, media, communication, or a closely related field with four (4) years of full-time, sports media-focused professional work experience will be considered in lieu of a terminal degree. To receive experience credit for full-time, freelance work, applicants must list each project, including the project's length, on their CVs.
