GENERAL DESCRIPTION / PRIMARY PURPOSE: Install, maintain, and troubleshoot food processing equipment, motors, starters, etc. Support the production process by reducing equipment down through accurate and effective trouble shooting. Must be able to work under pressure and make repairs in a timely manner.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS / DUTIES OF THE POSITION:
Maintain and operate Hayssen packaging equipment or equivalent. Troubleshooting and repairs of Ishida & Yamato scales
Must have excellent electrical skills including PLC’s, control circuits, and ability to read and interpret electrical schematics
Complete knowledge of conveyor systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, and the ability to successfully maintain equipment
Ability to maintain and operate chlorine and ammonia systems
Install 460V motors, starters, and disconnects
Install control circuits, panels, and program PLC’s
Experienced with HVAC systems
Understanding of 1000CFM air compressor systems, including air dryers
TIG/MIG weld stainless steel in a sanitary environment
Perform preventative maintenance on process equipment
Must be able to work flexible hours.
JOB SPECIFIC COMPETENCIES:
EXPERIENCE: Must have previous maintenance experience in a manufacturing process; minimum of 3 years’ qualified maintenance experience.
SKILLS: Must be highly skilled in maintenance and HVAC systems. Experience installing and troubleshooting electrical components required. Knowledge of welding techniques is preferred.
ADDITIONAL: Hands-on ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented food processing environment. Required to work independently and with limited supervision. Must be able to maintain acceptable
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Work is performed in a cool environment with an average temperature of 34 degrees F. Concentrated chlorine and concealed ammonia are present. Work surfaces and floors may be wet. Employees are required to wear approved shoes and protective equipment. Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs. unassisted. Constant standing, reaching, bending, and stooping may be required at times.

WORK HOUR & TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:
Ability to work overtime as needed. Some weekends are required.
EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION:
HS Diploma or equivalent work experience, and demonstrated ability to perform assigned tasks
