Position Overview
Bear Staffing is seeking an experienced Journeyman-Level Carpenter to join a leading modular building company in Otsego, MN.
This is not an entry-level carpentry position. We are looking for a skilled carpenter with strong, hands-on experience in framing, remodeling, construction, and finish work who can confidently complete repairs and renovations with minimal supervision.
The Carpenter will work primarily on modular buildings and mobile office units, completing everything from structural and framing repairs to doors, windows, flooring, siding, drywall, and finish work.
Key Responsibilities

• Perform skilled rough and finish carpentry
• Frame and repair interior and exterior walls
• Remove, repair, and replace walls, flooring, windows, and doors
• Install and repair siding, trim, floor tile, paneling, and other building components
• Measure, cut, fit, and install materials accurately
• Perform drywall installation and repair
• Complete interior and exterior refurbishment projects
• Read measurements, layouts, and basic construction drawings
• Troubleshoot building and structural repair needs
• Perform minor plumbing and electrical repairs as needed
• Complete repairs at customer locations when required
• Safely operate a variety of hand and power tools
• Maintain high standards for workmanship, safety, and job-site organization

What We're Looking For

• Journeyman-level carpentry skills or equivalent hands-on experience
• Several years of professional carpentry, construction, remodeling, or building-maintenance experience
• Strong framing and finish carpentry experience
• Ability to complete carpentry projects independently with minimal supervision
• Strong knowledge of construction methods, measurements, materials, and tools
• Experience installing and repairing doors, windows, walls, flooring, siding, and trim
• Comfortable troubleshooting repairs rather than simply following basic instructions
• Basic electrical and plumbing knowledge is a plus
• Valid driver's license preferred
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Comfortable performing physical work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions
• Dependable, safety-conscious, and committed to quality workmanship

Ideal Background
Candidates coming from backgrounds such as residential or commercial carpentry, remodeling, general contracting, framing, finish carpentry, modular construction, restoration, or facilities construction are strongly encouraged to apply.
We're looking for someone who can be given a project and has the experience to understand how to approach it, what tools and materials are needed, and how to complete the work correctly.
Compensation
$28 $33+ per hour
Compensation will be based on overall carpentry experience and skill level. Additional flexibility may be available for highly experienced candidates with strong journeyman-level skills.
