    Job Description

     

    Legacy Talent Search is currently seeking candidates for a Journeyman CNC Machinist in Portland, OR. Our client is a well-established industry leader known for innovation and a commitment to delivering the highest quality precision-machined products.     Key Responsibilities:

    · Set up, operate, and maintain CNC mills, lathes, and other precision machining equipment to produce high-quality components.
    · Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, GD&T, and work instructions to manufacture parts within tight tolerances.
    · Utilize turnkey machining experience to independently manage projects from setup through final production.
    · Select and install tooling, fixtures, and machine offsets to optimize machining performance.
    · Perform first-piece, in-process, and final inspections using precision measuring equipment, including micrometers, calipers, indicators, and bore gauges.
    · Edit CNC programs and troubleshoot machining issues to maintain quality and maximize efficiency.
    · Conduct quality checks throughout the manufacturing process to ensure product accuracy and consistency.
    · Accurately document production activities, inspections, and machining adjustments.
    · Collaborate with engineering, quality, and production teams to meet daily production goals and resolve manufacturing challenges.
    · Follow all safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized work environment.
    · Promptly report equipment malfunctions, quality concerns, or safety hazards to supervisors.

     

    Qualifications:

    · Journeyman Machinist certification or equivalent combination of education and extensive CNC machining experience.
    · Required turnkey machining experience, with the ability to independently take projects from blueprint to completed part.
    · Strong experience setting up and operating CNC mills and/or lathes.
    · Ability to read and interpret blueprints, GD&T, and technical drawings.
    · Experience editing CNC programs, adjusting tooling, and troubleshooting machining processes.
    · Proficiency with precision measuring instruments and quality inspection techniques.
    · Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
    · Excellent teamwork, communication, and problem-solving skills.
