PRIMARY PURPOSE

Responsible for maintenance and repairs of district electrical systems

QUALIFICATIONS

Education and Experience High School Diploma or GED equivalent from an accredited Must have valid State of Texas Journeyman Electrician License Ability to read and interpret electrical plans specifications and technical Five years commercial experience required. Five years electrical maintenance experience required Must have valid Texas Drivers License and have a satisfactory driving record Good interpersonal and verbal communication skills

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

Must be physically able to operate a motor vehicle with or without reasonable accommodation Must be able to work at heights up to 50 feet with or without reasonable accommodation Must be able to work under limited supervision Responsible for installation, repair, and maintenance of electrical systems for AISD facilities Maintains assigned vehicle, equipment, and tools to ensure safe operating condition Coordinates with Electrical Foremen and other trades for the purpose of completing projects and work orders Inspects electrical systems and their components for the purpose of evaluating condition Identify necessary repairs and recommend preventive maintenance Informs personnel regarding procedures and/or status of work orders for the purpose of providing information for making decisions Other duties as assigned

Equipment Used

  • All of the following associated with the electrical trade, but not limited to:
  • Power tools (i.e. drill, saws, hammer drills)
  • Pneumatic and electric man lifts
  • Scaffold
  • Ladders
  • Basic hand tools
  • Electronic test equipment
  • Trenchers

Environment Work will be done within AISD zone concepts. Employee will be exposed to all atmosphere found in this region of Texas. Working in trenches may be required.
