The Journeyman Engineer plays a critical role in ensuring the reliability safety and performance of complex building systems. This position requires a highly skilled and versatile professional with deep expertise in automated building controls and the ability to perform a broad range of technical mechanical and trade-related tasks. Ideal candidates thrive in a hands-on environment enjoy problem-solving and can adapt to diverse maintenance and engineering challenges across a facility.

Key Responsibilities

A Journeyman Engineer must possess a high degree of knowledge of automated building control systems and may also perform a wide variety of work requiring high skill levels and abilities including but not limited to

Electricity

Electronics

Sheet metal work

Welding

Mechanics

Machine shop work

Hydraulics

Plumbing

Painting

Ventilation work

Carpentry

Plastering

Concrete and masonry work

Ceiling installation

Floor installation

Required qualifications

CourseworkTraining Must have successfully completed extensive specialized training courses --or--

Demonstrated ability and experience may be accepted in lieu of education

Upon hire

National Boiler Operator Grade I License - State County City Trade License Authority --or--

National Boiler Operator Grade II License - State County City Trade License Authority --or--

National Boiler Operator Grade III License - State County City Trade License Authority

4 years of building control systems inspection testing repair and maintenance in a hospital environment

Preferred qualifications

Associates Degree in Electronics Mechanical Systems Building Control Technology HVAC or similar field
