Openings:

  • Day Shift (Monday - Thursday, 5:00am - 3:30pm)
  • Second shift (Monday - Thursday, 3:15pm - 1:45am)

As a Journeyman Machinist, you will be required to operate mills, lathes, boring machines, and more to produce parts in an engineered-to-order environment. A strong machining knowledge base and ability to work cooperatively with others team members is a necessity. 

 Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Read and interpret blueprints. 
  • Setup parts and large weldments on machines using various vises, fixtures, clamps, chucks and securing devices. 
  • Select proper machine tools from a selection of high-speed steel, carbide and carbide inserted tooling. 
  • Operate mills, drills, lathes, key seaters, etc. 
  • Deburr and clean parts. 
  • Inspect parts for dimensional accuracy using precision measuring tools such as micrometers, calipers, gauges, pins, go/no-go thread gauges, etc.. 
  • Use overhead bridge and jib cranes to lift and move large parts (up to 10 tons). 
  • Keep a clean and orderly work area. 
  • Work as a team member. 
  • Participate in safety meetings and initiatives. 
  • Other duties as specified by supervisor. 

                       Qualifications: 

                      • Must be at least 18 years of age. 
                      • High school diploma or equivalent. Machining trade school or degree completion preferred.  
                      • Minimum 5 years’ experience in machining using mills, drills, lathes, key seaters, etc. required. 
                      • Experience setting up and operating large manual boring mills, planer mills and/or lathes is required. 
                      • Large spindle, arbor, and shafting experience on a lathe is a plus.  
                      • CNC experience is a plus. 
                      • Must have a good working knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T, ASME Y14.5) and be highly proficient in reading blueprints. 
                      • Experience working with tolerances ranging from fractional to 0.0002” required. 
                      • Minimum 5 years’ experience operating bridge and jib cranes and rigging heavy parts. 
                      • Must be reliable with good work ethic, self-motivated, and able to work independently. 
                      • High attention to detail and ability to resolve problems in an efficient manner required.  
                      • Commitment to safety - must be able to work to safe standards as outlined by the company. 
                      • Ability to use computers proficiently.  

                      Compensation: $30-$43/hr DOE
