Overview:

Journeyman Network Services Specialist

WORK LOCATION: Hanscom, AFB, MA (Bedford, MA)

Salary Range: $105-115,000.00

JOB STATUS: Full-Time; salaried

Clearance: Secret

Travel: Limited, as needed

 

Astrion has an exciting opportunity for a Journeyman Network Services Specialist for the EPASS Cyber and Networks Directorate (EPASS HN II) contract, supporting the C3I & Networks Division (AFLCMC/HNI) located at Hanscom AFB, MA.

 

 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS:

 

  • Education: Bachelors or Master’s Degree in a related field 
  • Years of Experience: Ten years of experience in the respective technical / professional discipline being performed, five of which must be in the DoD. Two additional years of technical network engineering experience with proper certifications may substitute for Master’s degree.
  •  3-5 years of networking experience- MPLS, BGP, OSPF in configuring/testing
  • Implementing Native 2FA on network devices
  •  Experience with BFD, LACP, VLAN trunks
  •  Experience working with Technical requirements, implementation plans, test plans
  •  Experience with STIGGING and vulnerability mitigation 

 

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS: 

 

  • Ability to work independently and apply the proper procedures and processes related to their area of expertise  
  • Experience configuring, operating, and testing DoD C4ISR components, systems, and tactical architectures 
  • Desired: knowledge of IP-Based networks and High Assurance Internet Protocol Encryptor (HAIPE) devices (KG-175/250) 
  • Desired: equipment familiarity with Air Defense System Integrator (ADSI), Joint Range Extension (JRE), Gateway Manager, Multifunctional Information Distribution System Low Volume Terminal (MIDS LVT), and Common Data Link (CDL) 

 

RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • The Contractor shall advise and support work that involves the planning, analysis, design, development, testing, quality assurance, configuration, installation, implementation, integration, maintenance, and/or management of networked systems used for the transmission of information in voice, data, and/or video formats. Functions required to be performed by individuals in this specialty may include: 
  • Analyze and recommend network requirements 
  • Recommend and   maintain network architecture and infrastructure 
  • Analyze network workload 
  • Monitor network capacity and performance 
  • Diagnose and resolve network problems 
  • Recommend network backup and recovery procedures 
  • Install, test, maintain, and upgrade network operating systems software 
  • Ensure the rigorous application of information security/cybersecurity policies, principles, and practices in the delivery of network services
