Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma
Minimum of 3 years of experience in commercial or institutional plumbing work
Expert knowledge in the use of hand power tools and equipment
Working knowledge of building and safety codes
Working knowledge of plumbing codes, safety regulations, and blueprint reading
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
Valid Arizona Driver''s license
Satisfactory criminal background check
Vision and hearing are adequate to exercise job responsibilities in a safe manner
Core Job Functions:
Install, maintain, and repair plumbing systems, including water, gas, and drainage lines across district buildings
Diagnose and resolve plumbing issues, ensuring compliance with local and state codes
Perform preventive maintenance and inspections to ensure system reliability and safety
Interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical documents to plan and execute plumbing projects
Maintain accurate records of work performed, materials used, and time spent on tasks
Collaborate with facilities staff and contractors to support district operations and improvements
Collaborate with other trades and departments to support facility operations and improvements
Coordinate with appropriate district personnel and the contractor to develop project specifications and follow up on contractor progress
Process documentation and other paperwork associated with job requirements promptly
Lead, with expertise in the specialized craftsman field, in the repair, alteration, maintenance, construction, and installation of site buildings and grounds
Plan, direct, monitor, and train other department employees
Maintain records of time, materials, and parts required to complete work orders
Perform heavy labor and maintenance work
Operate truck, hand-powered tools, and equipment assignments
Oversee the work of other maintenance personnel as assigned by the supervisor
Maintain the confidentiality of protected student and staff member information even after no longer employed
Be flexible and perform other duties relating to the general job function as assigned by the supervisor
Report safety/security hazards and needs for major repairs in an expeditious manner
Follow district policies as outlined
Perform all duties safely and prudently as directed by supervisors.

Physical Requirements - Heavy Work:
Ability to work extended periods of time in extreme temperatures (cold salad/sandwich prep, inventory for freezer & coolers)
Positions in this classification typically require: stooping, kneeling, crouching, standing, walking, sitting, finger or manual dexterity, repetitive finger motion, speaking, hearing, seeing (with correction), focusing ability, or other factors applicable to the job.
Employee must be able to stand and walk constantly on various floor surfaces while performing various duties, including but not limited to push/pull force of up to 100 pounds for various machines.
Employee must stand constantly and walk frequently, lifting items of various sizes, up to 50 pounds. Items over 50 pounds require a second staff member to lift safely.
Employee may rarely be required to climb ladders, to perform various stocking, inventory, cleaning or maintenance tasks
Employees may be subject to travel, fumes, odors, chemicals, blood-borne pathogens, workplace restrictions, cold and/or hot temperatures, and loud noises
