Position Title: Plumber Maintenance (23810)
Reports To: Facilities Maintenance Supervisor
Position Location: U.S. Army Parks Reserve Forces Training Area, Dublin, CA
Work Days/Time: Monday-Friday, 7:30am- 4:30pm, Occasional evening/weekends
Hourly Wage: $38.96-42.96 per hour--based on experience plus benefits
Qualifications:
· Must have a disability documented in writing by a physician licensed in the State of California as credentialed to diagnose and capable of diagnosing, the specific disability or a written certification of disability by a California State rehabilitation agency.
· Must pass a government security clearance upon application as well as subsequent criminal background checks and not be subject revocation of facility access during the term of employment. Must possess a valid California Driver’s License for the duration of employment
· Must possess a valid Plumbing License and graduate from Technical School or an apprentice program and knowledge and applied experience in computer operations and Microsoft Office Suite
· 3 – 5 years of practical journeyman experience working with commercial and industrial plumbing systems to include working with mixing valves, bathroom fixtures, copper pipe, backflow systems and cast-iron piping systems. In addition, applied experience in brazing and soldering within a confined space and chemical and water treatment and testing
· Strong knowledge in current plumbing code and utilization of various tools and equipment associated within plumbing and repair operations such as augers, snaking and jetting machines
· Workers perform various duties requiring moderate physical strength (able to lift and move materials up to 50 pounds unassisted and occasionally lift or move heavier items with the assistance of lifting devices or other workers) and the ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, kneel, stoop, crawl up to 60 minutes, and climb on various types of ladders.
DUTIES:
include, but are not limited to:
· Respond to emergency plumbing work orders within a timely manner. Respond, review, assess, inspect, diagnose, troubleshoot and repair various water, gas, sewage, oil distribution systems and their associated equipment work orders and provide updates.
· Install, modify and repair new and existing utility, plumbing supply and disposal systems
· Read and Interpret building plans, blueprints, and sketches to plan and lay out the routing, placement, slant slope, fall and proper operation of systems and equipment
· Install, modify, and repair systems by locating and tapping main lines, setting up system routes, placing and cutting route openings, placing hangers for proper level and slope, and determining and installing valves, traps, and unions needed for proper operation of systems.
· Route and place plumbing systems leading to the equipment, and hooking up testing equipment to conduct tests and repairs on backflow systems
· Perform monthly, quarterly and annual preventative maintenance on various utility systems such as gas, oil, sewage, water and plumbing distributions systems and associated equipment.
· Repair existing utility, supply, and disposal systems such as sewage, water, oil, gas distribution system, water heaters, disposal units, washers, dryer, drinking fountains, sinks, and sprinkler systems
· Maintain and upkeep of documentation and reporting requirements as relates to daily work orders, monthly reports, inspection and testing logs such as chemical and water treatment and grease trap inspections.
· Provide limited oversight to laborers and or general maintenance workers completing routine maintenance and repairs along with preventative maintenance tasks and perform any tasks that Management may deem to assign as business needs dictate
