Journeyman Tool & Die Specialist, Precision Manufacturing

Your Mission

A critical die shows wear and threatens delivery. You trace the issue, consult the print, and plan the fix—set up the mill, dress the wheel, verify tolerances, and return the tool to service. That’s the impact you’ll have in our Elk Grove Village precision operation as a Journeyman Tool & Die Specialist.

Impact Areas

• Build and service precision tooling and dies using manual milling and grinding.
• Transform blueprints, engineering drawings, and setup sheets into accurate parts.
• Elevate product quality by inspecting with micrometers, calipers, and precision gauges.
• Restore uptime through fast, effective tooling troubleshooting and repair.
• Advance capability by partnering with engineers and leadership on continuous improvement.
• Model a safe, organized (5S) workspace with complete, traceable documentation.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of direct Tool and Die Maker experience.
• Independent setup and operation of manual milling and grinding equipment.
• Expert blueprint and technical drawing interpretation.
• Proficient precision metrology and inspection practices.
• Detail-driven, analytical approach to problem-solving.

Preferred Capabilities

• Tool/die design background; CAD/CAM familiarity beneficial.
• Exposure to metal stamping, forming, or die repair.
• Working knowledge of ISO or AS9100D standards.
• CNC milling experience to complement manual expertise.
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus.
