About the job
- Set up and operate manual mills and surface grinders to produce, fit, and repair tooling and dies.
- Read and apply blueprints, engineering drawings, and setup sheets to plan and execute work.
- Inspect components with micrometers, calipers, and other precision instruments to verify tolerances.
- Diagnose die issues and perform effective repairs to protect part quality and production uptime.
- Collaborate with engineers and shop leads to improve tooling designs and machining processes.
- Maintain a safe work area, follow 5S principles, and complete documentation accurately.
Must-haves
- 3+ years of Tool and Die Maker experience.
- Independent setup and operation of milling and grinding equipment.
- Strong print reading and interpretation skills.
- Precision metrology skills and a detail-focused mindset.
- Proven problem-solver with a hands-on approach.
Bonus points
- Tool/die design experience; CAD/CAM exposure.
- Background in metal stamping, forming, or die maintenance/repair.
- Knowledge of ISO or AS9100D quality systems.
- CNC milling experience in addition to manual machining.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish).
