Job Description

Location: Hybrid Opportunity with locations in Pittsburgh, PA Cleveland OH and Birmingham, AL

Overview: This is an entry-level Business Systems Analyst role ideal for candidates with 1–2 years of relevant experience or strong foundational skills. The position supports Agile software development teams by translating business needs into technical requirements, assisting with Agile ceremonies, and producing documentation and diagrams.

Core Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather and clarify business and technical requirements.
  • Translate requirements into clear, testable user stories (using Gherkin syntax when applicable).
  • Support Agile ceremonies such as stand-ups, sprint planning, and backlog refinement.
  • Create technical diagrams (e.g., process flows, sequence diagrams) to support solution design.
  • Document user stories, acceptance criteria, and process flows.
  • Coordinate with developers, QA, and product teams to ensure alignment.
  • Assist with release planning and project tracking using Jira and Confluence.
 
Required Skills
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies and software development lifecycle (SDLC).
  • Basic understanding of microservices and APIs.
  • Experience writing user stories and acceptance criteria, preferably using BDD/Gherkin.
  • Ability to create sequence and process flow diagrams.
  • Proficiency with Jira for Agile project execution.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage stakeholder expectations and clarify requirements.
 
Preferred / Nice-to-Have Skills
  • Experience in technical analysis or software development.
  • Exposure to tools such as Dynatrace, Postman, Bitbucket, Confluence, and Visio.
  • Familiarity with Identity and Access Management (IAM) concepts.
  • Understanding of SAFe Agile framework.
  • Experience with backlog grooming and SDLC processes.
 
Education & Certifications
  • A degree is preferred but not required; relevant experience is acceptable in lieu of formal education.
  • Certifications in Agile, BDD, SAFe, or project management are a plus.
