Senior Accountant/Junior Controller
Temp-to-Hire
Location: New Haven, CT (Fully On-Site)
Compensation: $80,000–$110,000, based on experience and qualifications
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required
  • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience
  • Experience with month-end close, financial reporting, general ledger, and reconciliations
  • Strong knowledge of A/P, A/R, payroll, cash flow, and inventory accounting
  • Construction, contracting, manufacturing, or other inventory-based industry experience preferred
  • ADP Workforce Now experience is a plus
  • Analytical, business-minded professional with the ability to provide financial insight and recommendations to ownership

Responsibilities
  • Oversee day-to-day accounting operations including A/P, A/R, general ledger, journal entries, and account reconciliations
  • Supervise and assist with weekly payroll for approximately 60 employees
  • Lead the monthly close process and prepare accurate financial reporting
  • Perform cash flow forecasting and financial analysis to support business decisions
  • Analyze costs, identify process improvements, and recommend operational efficiencies
  • Manage inventory accounting and understand the financial impact of inventory transactions
  • Partner directly with the owner to provide strategic financial guidance and support company growth
  • Opportunity to oversee and mentor accounting staff
