We are currently seeking an experienced Jr. Localization Executive to help the Global Localization team localize and prepare content for launch and distribution. The Jr. Localization Executive will be assigned (specific or low complexity) film and series titles, relying on their best judgment to navigate through various situations leveraging defined and established workflows to locate the best path forward. They will assist other team members, capture data to articulate potential improvements, and initiate escalation to ensure quality customer experience.

They will track assigned series and movies production and delivery progress while overseeing the processing of all required assets from third-party production facilities through Amazon's contracted vendors for end-to-end ownership of localization and preparation for distribution to 3P partners and/or Prime Video (PV) - to ensure global release timetables are met. They must update and maintain various schedules, keep internal and external stakeholders up-to-date throughout production, manage localization progress, pursue source materials, organize assets for final distribution, troubleshoot any upstream or downstream rejections, and assess and act on Customer feedback. Additionally, the Jr. Localization Executive will also serve as the subject matter expert for their film and series' main title translations, ensuring all translated and adapted main titles adhere to established language style guides and preserve the creative intent of the original content.

The role will liaise between current productions and third-party localization vendors on work related to the translation/adaptation, casting, recording, and versioning of Amazon MGM Studios Originals content for global release. They will build relationships, troubleshoot situations, identify trends, and help achieve alignment across a variety of global vendors as well as internal teams (including Studios Content Services, Programming Strategy, Legal, Business Affairs, Creative, Marketing, Post, and Production). As a Jr. Executive, they can leverage opportunities to enhance their knowledge on department wide initiatives and tiger teams that contribute to tooling and AI requirements, workflow optimizations, and maintenance of style/language guidelines to ensure linguistic accuracy, cultural resonance, and brand consistency across all target languages.

This position will also partner with Localization Cost Management staff to track and monitor expenditures for all localization related work. The role is responsible for localization across Global and Local Originals, including Films, Series, Specials, Sports, and Near-Live type content. The ideal candidate must be able to handle a heavily administrative day-to-day while they monitor industry trends and seek to raise the bar for customer experience.

In addition to core responsibilities, this position will support special projects including language expansion and accessibility backfill efforts - working to extend localization coverage into new languages and territories while ensuring previously released content meets current accessibility and localization standards. The role will also manage an assortment of administrative responsibilities including maintaining internal tracking databases, updating documentation and reference materials, coordinating cross-functional meeting logistics, data collection and analysis, and supporting reporting needs for leadership.

They must oversee the Music and Effects audio component to safeguard useable assets for foreign dubbing, and that align with legal rights. Production schedules are unpredictable but directly impact timelines, and must be kept in line to maintain global release/launch.

It’s Always Day 1
At Amazon, it’s always “Day 1.” Now, what does this mean and why does it matter? It means that our approach remains the same as it was on Amazon’s very first day – to make smart, fast decisions, stay nimble, invent, and stay focused on delighting our customers. In our 2016 shareholder letter, Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos shared his thoughts on how to keep up a Day 1 company mindset. “Staying in Day 1 requires you to experiment patiently, accept failures, plant seeds, protect saplings, and double down when you see customer delight,” he wrote. “A customer-obsessed culture best creates the conditions where all of that can happen.” You can read the full letter here

Our Leadership Principles
Our Leadership Principles help us keep a Day 1 mentality. They aren’t just a pretty inspirational wall hanging. Amazonians use them, every day, whether they’re discussing ideas for new projects, deciding on the best solution for a customer’s problem, or interviewing candidates.
