JOB TITLE: Jr. Project Control Cost Analyst
LOCATION: Austin, TX
DURATION: 6+ Month contract with potential for conversions/extensions
RATE RANGE: $40-56/hour

POSITION SUMMARY:

Jr Project Control Cost Analyst will support the project controls team in delivering accurate Mechanical (Wet & Dry) and CSA estimates, cost reports, and takeoffs under the guidance of the PMO team. This individual will collaborate closely with Project Managers and Field Engineering to ensure cost deliverables are competitive, well-documented, and submitted on time. The role is ideal for a developing professional who has a foundational understanding of cost drivers and is eager to grow within a fast-paced, Self-Perform construction environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Support the development and maintenance of cost management programs, including budget tracking, cost monitoring, and forecasting activities during project execution.
  • Assist in building detailed estimates using labor productivity rates, material takeoffs, and equipment costs under the direction of senior team members.
  • Perform quantity takeoffs from drawing sets across multiple disciplines, with a primary focus on Mechanical scopes.
  • Prepare and maintain cost reports, dashboards, and tracking tools to communicate project cost performance to internal stakeholders.
  • Assist in processing and documenting change orders, ensuring alignment with project budgets and timelines.
  • Contribute to ad-hoc cost studies and variance analyses to support project decision-making and viability assessments.
  • Support the implementation of project control processes, including change management workflows, cost forecasting models, risk registers, and earned value tracking, in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
  • Maintain organized project cost data, filing systems, and documentation to ensure audit readiness and team accessibility.
  • Demonstrate a proactive, can-do attitude by identifying opportunities for process improvement and contributing to the growth of the project control s function.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, or a related field.
  • 3 5 years of experience in cost estimation, quantity surveying, or project cost controls within a construction environment.
  • Exposure to large-scale construction projects such as Data Centers, Production Plants, or Manufacturing Facilities is preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data organization, analysis, and reporting (pivot tables, formulas, charts).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present findings clearly to various team levels.
  • Basic understanding of how construction assemblies are built and sequenced in the field.
