Jr. Sales Trader - Environmental Commodities

ABOUT THE TEAM & ROLE

Our US team operates in one of the most dynamic environmental markets in the world, offering significant opportunity for ambitious individuals to quickly develop into leading market participants.  

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES 

• Develop a strong understanding of environmental commodity markets and regulatory frameworks  
• Drive the top-of-funnel sales through proactive lead generation, sales prospecting and outreach by leveraging the latest in sales software and toolkits 
• Work closely with senior traders and sales professionals to originate and execute transactions
• Maintain long-term relationships with corporate and institutional market participants
• Stay ahead of market developments, pricing trends, and regulatory changes to identify commercial opportunities and market inefficiencies
• Contribute to expanding STX’s presence across North American and international markets  

KEY REQUIREMENTS 

• Bachelor's degree in Economics, Sustainability, Energy, Business, Mathematics, or a related field
• 1-2 years of sales or trading experience is preferred but not required.
• Strong commercial drive and entrepreneurial mindset  
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
• Ability to analyze complex markets and translate insights into opportunities
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to perform in a fast-paced, high-performance environment
• Demonstrated interest in energy markets, sustainability, or commodity trading
• Experience in leveraging AI to improve workflows strongly preferred
• Working rights in the United States and based in or willing to relocate to New York, NY 

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

STX intends on offering the selected candidate a competitive base salary withing the range of $80,000 USD – $100,000 based on several objective factors such as relevant experience, location, holistic skillset, and applicable licenses and certifications. The candidate may also be eligible for discretionary compensation as determined annually within the company fiscal year.
