About the Role

A well-established financial services organization is seeking a Junior Staff Accountant to support its Accounting team. This role is ideal for someone with strong foundational accounting experience who is comfortable working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

This position plays a key role in ensuring accurate financial reporting, supporting month-end close, and maintaining compliance with accounting standards and internal controls.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze and reconcile general ledger accounts

• Prepare and post journal entries

• Support month-end close processes and financial reporting

• Research and resolve discrepancies and variances

• Maintain sub-ledgers and ensure data accuracy

• Assist in preparation of internal and external financial reports

• Contribute to process improvements and system enhancements

• Support audit activities through preparation of workpapers

• Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal controls

• Collaborate cross-functionally to resolve accounting issues

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

• 1–3+ years of accounting experience

• Experience with month-end close and account reconciliations

• Strong understanding of general ledger and financial statements

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (formulas, functions)

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in banking, credit union, or financial services

• Familiarity with GAAP and accrual accounting

• Exposure to accounts payable, fixed assets, or financial reporting

• Experience with accounting systems or reconciliation tools

Work Environment

• Hybrid schedule (combination of onsite and remote work)

• Standard business hours (Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM)
