POSITION: Judicial Assistant I
FULL TIME; BENEFIT ELIGIBLE POSITION
JOB SUMMARY
Under the direction of the Court Administrator performs a variety of complex clerical duties as required to assist the Judge(s) in expediting all court processes. This includes, but is not limited to, the receiving and processing of traffic citations, criminal citations, small claims, and related judgments/warrants.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
High School Diploma or equivalent is required and Two (2) years of verifiable office, administrative, or closely related job experience; OR a combination of education and experience.
Proficiency in computer skills to include Excel, Word and email applications.
SPECIAL QUALIFICATIONS
Must hold and maintain a valid State of Utah Driver License in accordance with Iron County Vehicle Policy.
Must be willing and able to attend out of town training as needed/scheduled.
Must be able to pass a criminal background check
Must be able to obtain security clearance for access to various required State Computer Systems (i.e. BCI, NLETS, NCIC, etc.).
Working Knowledge of the functions of the clerk of the court; legal terminology associated with a variety of court processes and documents; standard office practices and procedures related to filing and record keeping; Knowledge of courtroom procedures and protocol; Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing; maintain effective and courteous working relationships with elected officials, professionals, supervisor, fellow workers and the public; communicate verbally and in writing; operate a variety of office equipment and machines; work under time and workload pressures; maintain confidentiality on sensitive matters; Skilled in interpersonal communication.
