Judicial assistants are vital to the workings of a court system. This position performs work of moderate difficulty in carrying out administrative and general office duties in addition to providing varied administrative support for a judge, division of judges, a supervisor, or a group of supervisors. Work involves providing customer service (reception) and answering questions involving services provided by the Courts.Hours of WorkMonday through Friday 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.Key ResponsibilitiesPerforms routine and relatively complex administrative support and/or technical assistance work for division judgesMaintains docket and/or calendar system for tracking and managing cases as they proceed to dispositionAnalyzes and monitors the processing of cases in accordance with court rules and established practicesResearches service needs and process changes of court operationsEnters and retrieves data and prepares reportsPrepares routine and special correspondence, reports, forms, and documentsCoordinates arrangements for meetings, seminars, trainings, and other court‑related activitiesMaintains office supplies in central supply areaReviews and disburses incoming mailMay serve as a receptionist providing information to the public and as a telephone clerkThis job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of all required activities, duties, or responsibilities.
