Our client is seeking a detail-oriented Junior Accountant to join their accounting team. This role is responsible for high-volume, full-cycle accounts payable processing, vendor management, account reconciliations, journal entries, expense reporting, and supporting month-end and year-end close activities. The ideal candidate will have a strong accounting foundation, excellent Excel skills, and the ability to work accurately in a deadline-driven environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Process high-volume, full-cycle accounts payable for multiple departments/locations.
Review invoices, verify account coding, and ensure compliance with internal policies and procedures.
Maintain vendor records, including W-9 and 1099 documentation.
Reconcile A/P aging reports and balance sheet accounts.
Process employee reimbursements, petty cash, mileage, and corporate credit card expenses.
Prepare journal entries, accruals, prepaid expense entries, and account reconciliations.
Support month-end close, year-end close, and audit preparation activities.
Research and resolve payment discrepancies and vendor inquiries.
Partner with internal departments to ensure accurate and timely payment processing.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting required.
Minimum GPA of 3.5 preferred.
1-3 years of accounting, bookkeeping, or accounts payable experience.
Strong Microsoft Excel skills and accurate data entry/typing skills.
Knowledge of general ledger accounting, reconciliations, and accounts payable processes.
Experience with accounting software; Shelby and SQL reporting experience is a plus.
Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to meet deadlines in a team-oriented environment.
