Staff Accountant

The Staff Accountant collaborates with the Controller and bookkeeper to perform complex accounting functions with precision and accuracy. This role includes managing bookkeeping activities, preparing financial statements, and delivering exceptional service to both internal and external stakeholders. Key Responsibilities

• 
  
• Support accounts payable and accounts receivable operations
• 
  
• Process incoming payments, prepare daily deposits, and manage bank transactions
• 
  
• Handle agency billing, distribute invoices to account managers, and post direct bill commissions
• 
  
• Receive and record direct bill customer payments and issue carrier payments when needed
• 
  
• Create and maintain financial reports and accounting statements
• 
  
• Verify accounting reports for accuracy and post journal entries to the general ledger
• 
  
• Ensure proper allocation of expenditures according to departmental procedures
• 
  
• Provide timely and professional responses to all correspondence and phone inquiries
• 
  
• Adhere to all company policies and procedures
• 
  
• Perform additional duties as assigned by management
• 
  

Qualifications

• 
  
• Accounting or business degree preferred
• 
  
• Minimum 2 years of bookkeeping experience required
• 
  
• At least 1 year of MS Excel experience
• 
  
• Comprehensive knowledge of bookkeeping principles and procedures
• 
  
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
• 
  
• Excellent organizational and communication skills (written and verbal)
• 
  
• Ability to work effectively in team settings and independently
• 
  
• Proficiency in MS Office Suite, Outlook, and internet applications
• 
  
• Personable demeanor with strong interpersonal skills
• 
  
• Experience with accounting software and spreadsheets preferred
