Salary/Hourly Rate:
$50k - $55k Annually

Position Overview:
As a Junior Accountant, you will support daily accounting operations and assist with accounts payable, reconciliations, journal entries, accruals, and month-end close activities. The ideal candidate will be highly detail-oriented, possess strong analytical skills, and thrive in a high-volume environment.

Responsibilities of the Junior Accountant:
  • Review and process accounts payable mailbox activity.
  • Review daily sales and financial reports for accuracy and posting.
  • Complete weekly and monthly vendor account reconciliations.
  • Maintain invoice management and expense processing systems.
  • Allocate invoices to appropriate locations and departments.
  • Review invoices for accuracy, coding, and processing.
  • Monitor approvals, exceptions, and account mappings.
  • Record financial transactions, journal entries, and accrual entries.
  • Reconcile third-party accounts receivable transactions to bank statements.
  • Reconcile assigned general ledger accounts.
  • Support the month-end close and financial statement preparation.
  • Assist with tax compliance filings and audit documentation.
  • Participate in ad hoc accounting projects and process improvement initiatives.
Required Experience/Skills for the Junior Accountant:
  • 1 - 3 years of accounting experience.
  • Strong accounts payable, reconciliations, journal entries, accruals, and month-end close experience.
  • Understanding of accounting and financial reporting principles.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to multitask, problem-solve, and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
Preferred Experience/Skills for the Junior Accountant:
  • Restaurant experience is preferred.
  • Hospitality, retail, or other brick-and-mortar industry experience is highly desired.
  • Experience with Restaurant365 (R365), XtraCHEF (XC), or similar accounting systems.
  • Experience in a high-volume operational environment.
Education Requirements:
  • Associate's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred.
  • Equivalent combination of education and relevant experience will be considered.
