Junior AccountantLocation: Poughkeepsie, NYCompensation: $55,000–$60,000Work Modality: 100% in-officePosition SummaryThe Junior Accountant supports the day-to-day accounting operations of the organization, ensuring financial records are accurate and maintained in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). This role is ideal for an early-career accounting professional looking to grow their skills in financial reporting, reconciliations, and general ledger management while contributing to the overall financial health of the company.Responsibilities:Assist with the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statementsSupport the month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring timely completion of assigned tasksPrepare and post journal entries, including accruals, prepaids, and other routine adjustmentsMaintain and reconcile general ledger accounts and balance sheet schedulesPerform bank reconciliations and assist with cash application and monitoringAnalyze variances and support budgeting and forecasting activitiesAssist in preparing reports for internal management and external stakeholdersGather and organize documentation to support audits and tax filingsMaintain accurate financial records and ensure proper documentation of transactionsCollaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve accounting-related inquiriesUtilize accounting systems and Excel to track, analyze, and report financial dataAssist with process improvements and system enhancements where applicablePerform other accounting and administrative duties as assignedQualifications & Experience:Minimum of 1 year of accounting or related experienceStrong understanding of basic accounting principlesProficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs a plus)Strong attention to detail and organizational skillsAbility to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environmentEagerness to learn and adapt to new systems and processesEducation:Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field required#J-18808-Ljbffr
