Junior Accountant (Healthcare)

Location: Valley Stream
Full-Time-In Office
Salary: $75k+ DOE

Position Overview

We are seeking a Junior Accountant to support the accounting function within a healthcare environment. This role reports to the Director of Finance and is responsible for assisting with daily accounting operations, financial reporting, and month-end close activities.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with maintaining accurate financial records, including journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations
• Support general ledger maintenance and review account activity
• Perform bank reconciliations and assist with balancing accounts
• Assist with month-end close and preparation of financial statements
• Support preparation of GAAP-compliant financial reports
• Assist with budgeting and forecasting processes
• Help maintain and update the accounting system (ERP)
• Prepare supporting documentation for audits and tax filings

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of accounting experience (healthcare experience preferred)
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or currently in final stages of completion
• Strong understanding of basic accounting principles
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
• Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
• Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUPs and pivot tables preferred)
