Job Description

The Junior Area Manager will support Crescent Cleaning Company’s Operations Team in maintaining exceptional service across a diverse portfolio of commercial properties throughout the Chicagoland area. This position works closely with Area Managers, Project Managers, and Company Leadership to ensure quality standards, employee support, client satisfaction, and operational excellence. As a Junior Area Manager, you will have the opportunity to work directly with experienced operations leaders while learning every aspect of commercial cleaning management. This role is ideal for someone looking to build a long-term career in operations, facilities management, or building services. You will gain hands-on experience in employee development, quality control, client relations, staffing, scheduling, safety, and special projects while helping support some of Chicago’s premier commercial properties.

Job Qualifications

1-3 years of janitorial, hospitality, facilities, or building services experience preferred. Previous leadership experience is a plus but not required. Friendly, empathetic nature with abilities to multi-task and handle periods of high stress and chaotic environments. Strong work ethic and willingness to learn are essential.

  • Have critical eye on high level cleaning expectations.
  • Exposure to scheduling and workforce planning is preferred. Training will be provided for the right candidate.
  • Ability to use and understand computer programs and apps which are necessary for
  • daily operations.
  • Ability to communicate in English fluently both in writing and verbally.
  • Bilingual preferred
  • Understanding how janitorial tools/equipment work or the ability and willingness to learn and gain understanding quickly.

Job Expectations

  • This position is designed as a developmental role within our operations department. The Junior Area Manager will work alongside experienced Area Managers and Company Leadership to learn client relations, workforce management, inspections, quality assurance, staffing, scheduling, and operational, best practices.
  • Walking - Ability to be on your feet for long hours per day. 75% of the day is spent on the field touring, supporting, training, and inspecting. 25% is administrative/desk work.
  • Payroll & timekeeping support and compliance enforcement.
  • Adhering to and enforcing all Building Companies and Company policies, rules, and regulations.
  • Corrective action and discipline as warranted by team members and as maybe directed by Company HR or Company leadership.
  • Weekly meetings with Company leadership and multiple department meetings with building managers, etc.
  • Job site inspections using Company App.
  • Supply Ordering & Mailing Inventory Records.
  • Maintain equipment preventative maintenance & repair
  • Interviewing, initiation, and training of new hires.
  • Assist and be onsite during high profile events as required.
  • Ability to respond accordingly to emergencies as they arise.
