
Senior/Lead Estimator - Construction Jobot
- $140,000–$200,000 Per Year
Great opportunity to grow in the construction industry. The Estimating Assistant will be responsible for assisting the estimating department with all facets of the bidding process such as: researching, gathering and preparing proposals, ensure all bid requirements are met (mandatory job walks, pre-solicitations, etc.).
Solicit and obtain pricing from vendors and subcontractors
Manage DBE good faith efforts
Organize/print/file bidding documents
Update bidding documents with addenda
Verifies subcontractor’s certifications are on file and current
Review project Insurance Requirements and obtain quotes for any compliance needed
Attend project meetings to stay abreast of ongoing projects
May prepare forms such as change orders, purchase orders, service agreements, and subcontracts accordingly
Obtain bid bonds
Compile bid documents
Assemble marketing packages
Creates new project files, and subcontractor folders and maintains throughout the life of the project
Search for solicitation opportunities and complete prequalification requirements
Manage potential client database
Record bid results and manage historical records
§ Assist Project Managers with Subcontractor coverage as needed
§ Solicit subcontractor quotes using online bid software and various other resources.
§ Research general condition items: Dumpster fees, portable toilets, temporary storage and fencing as needed
§ Research and identify prospective projects to flag for bidding
§ Assist in building bid packages for subcontractors and sending bid reminders.
§ Data entry of subcontractor contact information and pricing
§ Perform follow-up calls to all bidding subcontractors and/or suppliers
Assemble bid packets, track documents, type correspondence to ensure all necessary documentation and communication is accurate and timely.
Perform a variety of administrative and office support functions to ensure the daily operations of the department run efficiently.
Provide support to estimating staff with bid preparation and job startup by utilizing thorough knowledge of terminology, procedures and practices to ensure needs are met.
Coordinate all MBE/WBE/DBE/UDBE to ensure diverse representation of subcontractors on all bid submittals.
Provide maintenance of bid list and bid packets to ensure timely and accurate bid submission.
Establish processing and documentation to ensure good faith efforts and project advertising requirements are met.
Assist office staff with administrative duties as needed
