Associate Attorney (Probate & Estate Litigation)

About the Opportunity

A growing, technology-forward law firm is seeking an Associate Attorney to join its Trusts, Estates, and Probate Litigation practice. This is an excellent opportunity for an attorney with 1 to 3 years of litigation experience who is interested in building expertise in probate, trust, estate, conservatorship, and guardianship matters.

The successful candidate will work closely with senior attorneys and partners on a variety of litigation matters while receiving comprehensive training and mentorship. This role offers significant professional development opportunities within a collaborative and supportive team environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct legal research related to trust, estate, and probate litigation matters
• Draft pleadings, motions, memoranda, discovery, and other legal documents
• Support litigation matters from inception through trial
• Appear in probate court proceedings
• Assist with probate administration matters through final discharge
• Assist with conservatorship and guardianship matters throughout the lifecycle of each case
• Collaborate with attorneys and legal staff on case strategy and client service initiatives
• Handle additional projects and assignments as needed

• Demonstrated interest in probate, trust, and estate law
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Strong analytical and critical thinking abilities
• Exceptional legal research and writing skills
• Outstanding attention to detail and organizational skills
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment
• Ability to manage deadlines in a fast-paced practice setting

Education & Experience

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
• Active California Bar membership required
• 1 to 3 years of litigation experience in any practice area
• Probate, trust, or estate law experience preferred but not required
• Strong academic credentials required
• Law Review experience strongly preferred

Compensation & Benefits

• Base salary range: $125,000 - $170,000
