Join a leading retail energy company supporting Mass Market Operations. We are seeking a Junior Business Analyst – Utilities to support Government Aggregation operations by analyzing enrollment and contract data, performing quality control, identifying operational issues, and partnering with internal teams to ensure accurate and compliant utility processes. Review and validate Government Aggregation accounts, contracts, and enrollments to ensure accuracy and compliance with utility requirements.
Analyze large datasets to identify discrepancies, trends, and opportunities for process improvements.
Perform high-volume quality control on customer enrollments, contract setup, and account maintenance activities.
Investigate and resolve data exceptions by collaborating with internal departments and utility partners.
Utilize advanced Microsoft Excel functions, including VLOOKUP, XLOOKUP, and Pivot Tables, to analyze and reconcile operational data.
Write and execute basic SQL queries to retrieve, analyze, and validate data for business and operational reporting.
Ensure customer and enrollment records are complete, consistent, and audit-ready.
Lead weekly stakeholder meetings to present Government Aggregation performance metrics, trends, and key operational issues.
Support business operations by documenting findings, recommending improvements, and ensuring timely resolution of issues.
Retail energy industry experience is required.
Experience supporting Government Aggregation (Gov Agg) programs is preferred.
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including experience working with large datasets using VLOOKUP, XLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, and other analytical functions.
Working knowledge of SQL, including the ability to write basic queries, analyze data, and identify trends (developer experience not required).
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
Exceptional attention to detail with the ability to maintain accuracy in a high-volume environment.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including experience presenting information to business stakeholders.
Ability to prioritize multiple tasks while working independently and collaboratively across cross-functional teams.
Experience with utility enrollments, contracts, billing processes, or regulated market operations.
Previous experience in business analysis, operations, quality control, or data analysis within the utilities or retail energy industry.
