Junior Construction Estimator
The Junior Construction Estimator will support the estimating team by assisting with bid preparation, document management, subcontractor/vendor quote requests, and loading project data into estimating software. This role works closely with the Estimator, who will review and finalize all project bids.

Mon. – Friday - 8 hrs. daily
Pay: $18.00 – 23.00 Hourly

Essential Functions & Responsibilities
Assist Estimators with preparing construction estimates and bid packages.
Organize and manage bid documents, plans, specifications, and addendums.
Request and track subcontractor and vendor quotations.
Input quantities, pricing, and project data into estimating software such as Bid2Win.
Assist with takeoffs and quantity verification.
Maintain bid schedules and support project deadlines.
Coordinate with internal departments, vendors, subcontractors, and customers as needed.
Support pre-bid activities including document distribution and site visit coordination.
Help ensure estimates are accurate, complete, and submitted on time.
Perform administrative and data-entry tasks related to estimating and project bidding.
Learn and develop understanding of DOT, municipal, and private construction projects.
Minimum Qualifications
1–2 years of construction, administrative, estimating, or related experience preferred.
Strong organizational and time management skills.
Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
Strong communication and customer service skills.
Proficient with Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel and Outlook.
Ability to learn construction estimating software and industry terminology.
Ability to interpret construction drawings and specifications is preferred but not required.
Willingness to work occasional extra hours to support bid deadlines.
Preferred Experience
Experience with Bid2Win, or related construction software.
Exposure to roadway, traffic signal, lighting, signage, or DOT-related construction projects.
Pre-Screen
Upon offer, employees will be required to complete and pass a pre-employment drug screen, background, and MVR check.
License & Certifications
A valid driver’s license is required.
Travel Requirements
Occasional travel within the state for project site visits or training.
Mileage reimbursement provided.
Some out-of-state travel may be required during training.
Physical Requirements
RARE (less than 10%): stooping, kneeling, squatting, body twisting, crawling, climbing, balancing.
OCCASIONAL (up to 33%): standing, lifting up to 50 lbs., reaching, carrying, pushing, pulling, climbing stairs.
FREQUENT (up to 66%): walking, sitting.
